Australasian Safari (Perth 23/09/11)
Referred to as Australia’s Paris-Dakar down under, this years rally deemed as the toughest yet saw a host of international and Australian competitors pitting their motos, quads and autos against the rugged outback of Western Australia. The course encompassed Geraldton, Mt Magnet, Sandstone, Laverton, Leonora and Kalgoorlie. Aussie V8 Supercar legend Craig Lowndes averaging speeds of up to 200kph and despite rolling over on day 5 still made 4th on the finish podium in the auto division.

This year saw a strong team from Army to again provide the security and event support which is vital to the success of this annual event. The ATS organized SAS Trust fundraiser now in its 5th year has continued to win the crowd. Event organizers and competitors continue to welcome the professional skills inherited within SASR training as well as support and promote the honorable role of the Trust.
