Retirement of Trustee

On Wednesday 15th June 2011 a Presentation took place at Campbell Barracks to farewell our valued and inaugural Trustee, Governor-Designate Mr Malcolm McCusker AO QC who, on 1st July 2011 was being sworn in as the new Governor of Western Australia. Members of the Regiment and the Trust were there to farewell Mr McCusker and his wife Tonya as they started on the new part of their life.

The Commanding Officer of the SAS Regiment made a Presentation to Mr McCusker on behalf of the Regiment thanking him for all his efforts over the past 15 years in support of the SAS Regimental family. The Trust Treasurer, Mr Tom Wallace OAM (on behalf of the Trust Chairman Hon Peter Blaxell who was overseas) made a Presentation to Mr McCusker on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Tom thanked Malcolm for his very significant contribution to the Trust’s work since 12th June 1996 and his strong support of our all Charity functions.

In his response Mr McCusker praised the work of the Regiment and said he would continue to be very interested in the work of the Trust and our Trust would remain very dear to his heart.

The vacancy on our Board created by the retirement of Mr Malcolm McCusker AO QC has been filled by the appointment of Mr Andrew Forrest.
